Full Abstract: Novel nobel metal based catalysts are being synthesized to more efficiently remove nitrate from drinking water. The new catalysts are alloys of Pd and Rh, substituted with Ag and Au to increase activity and decrease costs. They are being integrated into a trickle bed reactor to minimize mass transfer limitations of H2 to the catalyst surface.
